STATEMENT
OF
FAITH

The Bible Is The Inspired Word Of God
The Bible is God’s Word to all humankind, written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Old and New Testaments are the only written revelation from God to man. The Bible is infallible and is the authoritative rule of faith and conduct for mankind.

2 Timothy 3:15-17 | 2 Thessalonians 2:13 | 2 Peter 1:21
There Is One True God
God is love, sovereign, omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent. He is the Creator of the heavens and the earth. While God is one, He is also a tri-personal, eternal being known as the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1-2 | Deuteronomy 6:4 | Psalm 90:2 | Matthew 22:37 | Matthew 28:19 | John 8:54-59
Jesus Christ Is The Son of God
Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is the second person of the tri-personal God and the eternal Son of God. Jesus became man without ceasing to be God. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all humankind by dying on a cross. The Bible declares His bodily resurrection from the dead and his power over sin and death. Jesus ascended to Heaven and is exalted at the right hand of God the Father to now function as our High Priest, where He acts as our Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate. Jesus will come again and will judge the living and the dead.

Matthew 1:18-23 | Hebrews 7:26 | 1 Peter 2:22 | John 1:1-14 | 1 John 3:4-5 | Acts 2:22 & 10:37-38 | 2 Corinthians 5:21 | 1 Peter 2:24 | 1 Corinthians 15:4 | Matthew 28:1-6 | 1 Corinthians 15:4
All Men Are Sinners And In Need Of A Savior, Jesus Christ
Man was created in the image of God. However, Adam and Eve willfully disobeyed God, as do all people. That first sin had several repercussions. Man was excommunicated from the Garden of Eden, a curse was pronounced, the process of physical death began, and man died spiritually. Sin separated humankind from God, severing our fellowship from Him and His holiness.

Genesis 1:26 | Genesis 3:6 & 14-19 & 23 | Genesis 2:17 | Romans 3:23 | Romans 5:12-19
Salvation Is Through Faith In Christ Alone, And Is Given By God’s Grace
Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty of our sins and rose from the dead on the third day according to Scripture. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin’s penalty.

Acts 4:12 | John 1:12 | John 3:16 | John 14:6 | 1 Peter 2:24 | Hebrews 8:12 | Hebrews 9:26 | 1 John 4:9-10 | 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 | Revelation 3:5 | Philippians 3:20-21 | Galatians 4:4-7 | Galatians 5:22-23 | Romans 4:4-5 | Romans 8:16 | John 3:3 | Ephesians 1:13-14 | 1 Peter 1:3-5
The Holy Spirit Is Given To All Believers
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son of God and is present in the world to make mankind aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. The Christian seeks to daily live under His control and by His power. We believe that God is sovereign in bestowing spiritual gifts. It is, however, the believer’s responsibility to submit the development and use of those gifts to God.

1 Corinthians 12:7 & 11 | Ephesians 4:7-8 | Galatians 5:22-23 | Romans 12:1-8 | 1 Corinthians 13 | 1 Peter 4:10-11 | 2 Corinthians 3:17 | John 16:7-13 | John 14:16-17 | Acts 1:8 | 1 Corinthians 2:12 | 1 Corinthians 3:16 | Ephesians 1:13 | Galatians 5:25 | Ephesians 5:1
The Baptism Of The Holy Spirit Is For Today
We believe the baptism of the Holy Spirit and Fire is for today and for all believers. All believers are entitled to and should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Holy Spirit and fire, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of all in the early Christian Church. With it comes the endowment of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry.

Luke 24:49 | Acts 1:4 | Acts 1:8 | 1 Corinthians 12:1-31

This experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth.

Acts 8:12-17 | Acts 10:44-46 | Acts 11:14-17 | Acts 15:7-9

With the baptism in the Holy Spirit come such experiences as:

• An overflowing fullness of the Spirit
John 7:37-39 | Acts 4:8 | Acts 11:15-17

• A deepened reverence for God
Acts 2:43 | Hebrews 12:28

• An intensified consecration to God and dedication to His work
Acts 2:42

• And a more active love for Christ, for His Word and for the lost
Mark 16:20

The baptism of believers in the Holy Spirit is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking with other tongues as the
Spirit of God gives them utterance.

Acts 2:4 | Acts 10:44-46 | Acts 11:15-17
Divine Healing
Divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement, and is the privilege of all believers.

Isaiah 53:4-5 | Matthew 8:16-17 | James 5:14-16 | Acts 10:38 | Matthew 9:35-38 | Matthew 10:1 | Matthew 10:7-8
Sanctification
Sanctification is an act of separation from that which is evil, and of dedication unto God. The Scriptures teach a life of "holiness without which no man shall see the Lord." By the power of the Holy Spirit we are able to obey the command: "Be ye holy, for I am holy." Sanctification is realized in the believer by recognizing his identification with Christ in His death and resurrection, and by the faith reckoning daily upon the fact of that union, and by offering every faculty continually to the dominion of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 12:1-2 | 1 Thessalonians 5:23 | Hebrews 13:12 | Hebrews 12:14 | 1 Peter 1:15-16 | Romans 6:1-11 | Romans 6:13 | Romans 8:1-2 | Romans 8:13 | Galatians 2:20 | Philippians 2:12-13 | 1 Peter 1:5
Eternal Security
We believe that all true Christ-followers are eternally secure through the Spirit’s power. We believe that it’s the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation, without using their Christian liberty as an occasion for surrendering or yielding to sin.

John 6:37-40 | John 10:27-30 | Romans 8:1 | Romans 8:38-39 | Romans 13:13 | 1 Corinthians 1:4-8 | 1 Peter 1:5 | Galatians 5:13 | Titus 2:11-14
The Church and Her Mission
The Church is the body of Christ and has a three-fold purpose:

1. To glorify and worship God
2. To care for, build and equip God’s people for faithfulness, devotion and ministry
3. To present the Gospel to the world.

1 Corinthians 12:12-28 | 1 Corinthians 14:12 | Acts 1:8 | Matthew 28:18-20 | John 17:8 | Ephesians 4:11-16 | Mark 16:15-20
Judgment and Eternity
Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with him is eternal life. Heaven and hell are places of eternal existence. There will be a final judgment in which each person will stand at the judgment seat of Christ. Those whose names are written in the Book of Life will be deemed righteous through Christ’s righteousness and will enjoy God in the New Heavens and New Earth for all eternity.

Matthew 25:31-46 | John 2:25 | John 3:16 | John 5:11-13 | Romans 2:1-9 | Romans 6:23 | 1 Corinthians 4:5 | 1 John 5:11-12 | Revelation 20:11-15 | Revelation 21:1-4
The Blessed Hope
The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord is the imminent and blessed hope of the church.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 | John 14:1-4 | Romans 8:23 | Titus 2:13 | 1 Corinthians 15:51-52
The Millennial Reign of Christ
The second coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints, which is our blessed hope, followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on earth for one thousand years. This millennial reign will bring the salvation and redemption of national Israel and the establishment of global peace as the Lord rules the nations.

Final Judgement
There will be a final judgment in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works. Whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life, together with the devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, will be consigned to the everlasting punishment in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

Matthew 25:46 | Mark 9:43-48 | Revelation 19:20 | Revelation 20:11-15 | Revelation 21:8
The New Heavens and New Earth
"We, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth wherein dwelleth righteousness." - 2 Peter 3:13

2 Peter 3:13 | Revelation 21 | Revelation 22
The Sanctity of Human Life
We believe that all human beings are created by God and that each human bears His image. To be created in His image is to possess a value beyond compare. Nothing else in God’s creation has this distinction; it’s a privileged status reserved only for humankind. This means that every person, from conception to natural death, possesses inherent dignity and immeasurable value. This includes pre-born children, elderly individuals, people with physical limitations or special needs of any kind, and others marginalized by society. Christians are called to value all human life in both their attitudes and
their actions.

Genesis 1:27 | Psalm 139:13-14
The Value of Humanity
People matter to God; therefore, they matter to us. Every person is deserving of compassion, love, kindness, respect and dignity. Our beliefs on Marriage and Sexuality do not provide grounds for bigotry, bullying or hate. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes towards any individual are not in alignment with the Bible’s teachings, including The Great Commandment and The Great Commission. While we choose to honor and love all people, we do not pacify, nor condone, sinful lifestyles that are clearly a Biblical abomination to God.

Genesis 2:23-24 | Matthew 5:31-32 | Matthew 19:1-12 | Ephesians 5:25-33 | James 1:27
The Value and Validity of Singleness
We believe all Christians are called to love God with all of their heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to love their neighbors as themselves. God calls Christians to serve him whether in the married state or in the state of sexually abstinent singleness. Faithful singleness is as noble a state as faithful marriage, whether it be a temporary state, a calling, or even an unwanted circumstance.

Matthew 19:8-12 | 1 Corinthians 7:1-40
God’s Design for Marriage
God created a place for sexual intimacy through marriage between one man and one woman. Although culture and customs have wavered in their definition of marriage, God alone has the ultimate authority regarding marriage relationships for believers. Though sexual intimacy outside of marriage (one man and one woman) is sinful, the Gospel provides redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, and receive love and forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 | Ephesians 2:1-15
God’s Design for Sexuality
Stewardship of sexuality is a life-long responsibility for any and every believer. There is a difference between temptation (attraction), lust (fostering sexual desire) and unrepentant sin (action). Because of Christ, we do not have to be held captive by sexual immorality but can walk in His forgiveness, grace, and power on a daily basis.

Any sexual behavior or intimacy outside of marriage (between one man and one woman) is considered sexual immorality, which is identified in Scripture as sinful. This includes (equally): sexual intimacy within premarital relationships, same sex relationships, bisexual relationships, polyamorous relationships, adultery, bestiality, incest, pedophilia or pornography.

Because the human body is a creation of God where gender identity is biologically determined, disagreement with one’s biological sex (though a legitimate emotionally difficult experience), is regarded as an opportunity to trust God as the designer. Actions to embrace or adopt another gender identity other than the one biologically assigned at birth are deemed to be in opposition to the Creator and therefore sinful.

VICTORY strives to be a safe place for any person sincerely struggling with sexual temptation of any kind. For those struggling with temptation, repenting of sin, and desiring to walk in who God called them to be, we will provide grace, love, care, and direction to encourage each of us to walk in God’s upward, inward, and outward love. We believe in a victorious and overcoming lifestyle by God’s Grace and power.

Genesis 1:27 | Genesis 2:24 | Matthew 15:19 | Matthew 11:28-30 | Matthew 19:1-9 | Ephesians 5:31 | 1 Corinthians 4:5 | 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 | 1 Corinthians 10:13 | 1 Thessalonians 4:3 | Romans 1:26-32 | Galatians 5:16-17 | Hebrews 2:17-18 | Hebrews 4:14-16 | Hebrews 13:4 | Revelation 21:1-4 | Romans 6:14 | Romans 6:6-11 | Galatians 2:20 | Ephesians 1:3-14 | Colossians 1:13-14
Drug Use, Intoxication and Self-Control
As Paul said, “All things are lawful [that is, morally legitimate, permissible], but not all things are beneficial or advantageous. All things are lawful, but not all things are constructive [to character] and edifying [to spiritual life]” (1 Corinthians 10:23 AMP). As Christ followers, we must consider the impact of our example on others. Additionally, the importance of God’s people being sober minded is clearly highlighted throughout the Bible (both the Old and New Testaments) in not-so-subtle commands. Intoxication of any kind is plainly warned against and deemed as sin.

The Scriptures uphold for us the value of self-control as a gift given to us by God via the Holy Spirit. Self- control is not merely given to us for our own sake, but rather that we might be beacons of light in a hurting and conflicted world. Self- control makes our witness more powerful and should be safeguarded.

While not all legal substance use necessarily leads to intoxication, any recreational use of marijuana is inherently tied to seeking the effects of some level of intoxication. It is the stance of VICTORY that the recreational use of marijuana
should be avoided in the life of a Christ follower. [Please note, this posture does not extend to the medical use of marijuana, as directed by a physician.]

As supported by scripture, we believe that intoxication or drunkenness of any kind, regardless of the substance, defies our call to be holy for He is holy. Further, we promote and encourage a believer’s lifestyle to be free from the use of alcohol, tobacco, drugs and the misuse of prescription drugs.

Ephesians 5:18 | Galatians 5:21 | 1 Corinthians 6:10 | 1 Corinthians 10:23 | 1 Peter 1:13-16

Scripture calls us to earnestly desire the gift of prophecy, which is to speak on God's behalf to strengthen, encourage, and comfort people. We desire to say what the Father is saying to help people grow in their identity and discover their God-given purpose and value.
1 Corinthians 14:1-4 | John 12:49 | 1 Timothy 4:14-16 | Acts 2:17 | 1 Corinthians 14:24-25 | Acts 13:1-3

Prophecy is not one-way communication. It involves two people hearing from God: the one who gives the prophetic word and the one who receives it. With the Holy Spirit, Scripture, and our community, we judge the spirit and accuracy of the words we give and receive.
Holding on to what is good, we let go of what is not.
1 Thessalonians 5:19-22 | 1 Corinthians 14:29 | Luke 9:55 | Acts 21:10-22:24 | Acts 27:10 & 22-24

James 2:14-18 | Mark 10:46-52 | Matthew 9:27-38
The Kingdom Is Advancing & Increasing
God is big and victorious. The devil is small and defeated. We are in a battle, but the outcome is not in doubt!
1 John 4:4 | Colossians 2:13-15 | 1 John 2:13 | 1 John 5:4-5 | Romans 8:31-39 | John 12:31 | Acts 4:23-31 | 1 John 3:8

Honor recognizes and affirms that every person is valuable and powerful. We are made in God's image; He died to restore us to relationship with Him, therefore we are significant.

God's People Are Generous – Like Our Father
God is extravagantly generous and our generosity is a response and reflection of Him. He is a good Father who gives good gifts to His children. The thread of God's generosity weaves through His creation, covenants, Israel's economics, the gospel, and the kingdom as He consistently models that it is more blessed to give than to receive.

The Bride & The Kingdom
The Church is the bride of Christ and she will successfully fulfill His great commission to make disciples of all nations, which means the nations will experience transformation.
We work to leave a legacy and inheritance for future generations, just as previous generations have done for us. While anticipating Christ's glorious return, we simply do not know when He will come, which should inspire us to have a long-term earthly vision.
